SELL FROM ANOTHER STATE
HOMEOWNER GUIDE

How an out-of-state house sale can work

Keep each stage clear: introduce the property, review a possible purchase, decide on written terms and confirm the arrangements for closing.

01 / Introduce the house

Start with the facts you know

Share the address, current occupancy and condition. Tell us why you are considering a sale, where you live now and what timeline you have in mind. Mark older information or unanswered questions clearly.

02 / Establish what needs review

Arrange a useful property visit

Discuss who can authorize entry, who can coordinate a visit and what information is needed. Photos can help begin the conversation, but they do not replace every part of an inspection. Keep access credentials in a suitable private channel.

03 / Consider a proposal

Review the price and conditions together

Read the proposed purchase price, inspection period, allocation of costs and closing requirements. Ask how repairs, belongings and occupancy are treated. A proposed offer is not a guarantee of net proceeds or of a completed sale.

04 / Coordinate the closing

Confirm documents, signing and timing

If you choose to enter an agreement, work with the title company or closing attorney on the required documents and steps. Confirm signing arrangements before making travel plans. The actual schedule depends on title, inspection and the written agreement.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

Make the next step a useful conversation.

Share the address, what you know about the house and what you would like to happen next. We’ll review whether a potential purchase is a fit.

LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR HOUSE

A house there.
A conversation from here.

You don’t need every answer to get started. Tell us what you know and which questions matter to you.
